EL-VIZ at the centre for "Southern Folklore" in downtown Memphis off Beal street....with friends including maddy and peter wilson the president of the Elvis gospel fan club (www.elvisgospel.com) and members of Elvis's backing group "The Imperials"...
EL-VIZ aka Billy Nash released the Chuck Berry classic "Come On" in the summer of 1986 with the help of legendary rapper Miky Tuff of Reggae legends "Salem Foundation" as a "peace offering" for the Asian and Afro-Caribbean communities following the "Handsworth Riots" of October 1985.
The single recieved worldwide coverage when the video of the song was shown on the newly formed "DIY" section of MTV and Billy's claim to fame was that it reached no.50 in the Dutch charts....
El-VIZ recieves the first ever award for the category of "BEST BHANGRA FUSION TRACK" at the Asian Pop Awards 1989.
The track although never released caused "mayhem and major disturbances" when it was first performed live at the "Austoria night club on Charring Cross Road London. Police had to be called when the "lunch time university" students gig was "infiltrated" by angry Asian parents who objected to the sight of Billy Nashad dancing on stage with english and afro-caribbean female dancers !
